If the stacks are badly placed or badly built, the rains can cause considerable losses by wasting a high proportion of the ears. The 'parvero' is therefore the key man of the gang, and he is assisted by the 'stacker's helper'. Once this task is finished comes the most important and significant moment of the process: the threshing."*
